Wilde Readings

Celebrate Yarra Ranges Regional Museum’s latest exhibition, Del Kathryn Barton: The Nightingale and the Rose with friends whilst enjoying Oscar Wilde readings served with cello, opera and the sweet song of a nightingale.

Enjoy a glass of wine on arrival at the museum before you wander ACMI’s touring exhibition, Del Kathryn Barton: The Nightingale and the Rose and immerse yourself in a screening of the award-winning short film by Del Kathryn Barton and renowned filmmaker Brendan Fletcher interpreting Oscar Wilde’s 19th century classic.

Concluding your exhibition viewing, you will then be accompanied into our ‘Wilde Readings’. John Wood, Michael Veitch, Simon Oats present Oscar Wilde readings served with humour, wit and a whole lot of whimsy! In addition, Wilde’s work will be peppered with guest performances; the delightful Beth Williams giving us a touch of opera, Rose Hampton singing the sweet song of a Nightingale supported by the lush sounds of the cello.
