My Ireland (Mise Eire) - The New Palm Court Orchestra

Pianist and composer Gemma Turvey leads members of the New Palm Court Orchestra in an homage to Irish music traditions this Saint Patrick’s Day, featuring acclaimed guest artists Rob Zielinski (fiddle) and Dan Walker (tenor). Hear excerpts from Sean Ó Riada’s evocative Mise Éire, Phil Colough’s Song for Ireland, Zielinski’s Farewell to the Dohertys and traditional songs and stories.

About the New Palm Court Orchestra (NPCO)
Founded by Melbourne pianist/composer Gemma Turvey, the NPCO bridges jazz, classical and world-music influences with graceful ease. The NPCO is renowned for high quality partnerships, enjoying collaborations with guest soloists including multi Grammy Award winning cellist Eugene Friesen (USA), premiere vocal ensemble The Consort of Melbourne and countertenor Maximilian Riebl with standout performances at the Melbourne Recital Centre, Sydney Opera House, MPavilion and the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.
