Lux Radio Theatre - The Mystery of a Hansom Cab

Be drawn into a dark world of nineteenth century Melbourne mystery as acclaimed actors from theatre and screen indulge your senses by recreating the pre-television days of radio drama.

Almost twenty years ago Lux Radio Theatre performed Mystery of a Hansom Cab, sparking Australia’s love affair with these beautifully crafted live recreations of the halcyon days of radio drama. A long-standing favourite of its performers, The Mystery of a Hansom Cab returns, to the Red Earth Theatre Mooroolbark and the Burrinja stage.

Featuring James Wright (The Sound of Music), Simon Russell (We Will Rock You) and Lucy Gransbury (Godspell), The Mystery of a Hansom Cab will delight you with its unexpected plot twists and colourful references to late nineteenth century Victoria.

"He looked keenly round the room, and his estimate of the dead man's character was formed at once.”
