Dandenong Ranges Orchestra

The Dandenong Ranges Orchestra is a community orchestra dedicated to bringing classical music to the hills area of the Yarra Ranges. The orchestra is comprised of local musicians of all ages, coming together to enjoy the opportunity to play quality music in a warm and supportive atmosphere.

Begun in 1984 with a pilot program by the Dandenong Ranges Music Council the orchestra evolved from a small string ensemble into what is now is a fully fledged orchestra that performs a wide range of classical music repertoire. Rehearsals are held weekly to prepare four concert performances per year held in various venues around the Yarra Ranges.
